I bet you know someone who has diabetes or has a relative or a friend with diabetes. Also, I bet that they can tell you the struggles and constant monitoring they live with every day. We are taking steps to help Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining our Walk Team and making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.
We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes – they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.
Most of you know I have had Type 1 Diabetes since I was diagnosed when I was only 2! I have been living with diabetes for 12 years and it has not always been an easy road. And, some of you know my mother’s struggles with her diabetes. She has been a diabetic for 24 years and ended up in kidney failure 2 years ago. Luckily, she was given a gift-of-life with a Kidney and Pancreas Transplant in the summer of 2011. She is now living Dialysis-free and no longer has to take insulin for diabetes.
Please, will you accept the challenge to make a difference by walking with us? All we need you to do is click on the “Donate to This Team” button, make a donation, and begin fundraising. It’s simple, fast, and fun!
Thank you for your support, and we’ll see you on Walk day!
